Mrs. Fish, nestled on Pell Street in New York's bustling Chinatown, has quickly become a favorite among both locals and visitors seeking authentic Sichuan cuisine. Renowned for its flavorful fish dishes, the restaurant offers a delightful menu that features items like whole fish (P1) and sliced fish fillet (P2), all swimming in a rich, aromatic broth that strikes a perfect balance of spice without overwhelming heat. Many patrons, such as Julie Zhuang, have noted the high quality of the dishes despite being on the pricier side for Chinatown. However, the unique flavors make it worth every penny.
The ambiance at Mrs. Fish is warm and inviting, making it ideal for families. As Lynsey Thomas-Twyman highlights, the family-style serving encourages guests to share and enjoy a variety of dishes together, enhancing the overall dining experience. Basemates from Edwards M's review, the service remains attentive, though occasionally slightly off, like bringing desserts too early—an amusing misstep that adds to the charm.
Whether you are a regular or a newcomer, Mrs. Fish promises an authentic taste of Sichuan with its freshly prepared delights. It’s an experience that lingers well beyond the last bite, making it a must-visit on your culinary journey through Chinatown.

The food was so good but pricey for chinatown standards. The service was a lil off because they brought out the dessert first and we had to tell them to bring it after. The food tho was authentic and yummy.

My favorite restaurant in Chinatown and I have been to a lot!! The fish broth is consistently high quality at a counter-inflation price. It's a shame that not many tourists have found out about this place and this dish. But they will, like how they have found out about soup dumplings. Let the message cross.

Mrs. Fish is one of our favorite places to eat when visiting NYC. The ambiance is very family friendly and the food is amazing. It is served family style so make sure you have a big appetite or family members with you. It's located on a side street in Chinatown and you can easily miss it but trust me, you'll want to go in and grab a seat. The Jasmine tea tastes better than any other jasmine tea I've had before. All of the good tastes like it is cooked to order and it is reasonably priced for the servings you get.

This is an authentic food from SiChun. Most popular is P1 and P2 from the menu. P1 is whole fish with bones and P2 is is slice fish fillet. The soup base is extremely good. Spice not very hot, just ask for less spicy. You will love it. The main store is in a food court in Flushing Main St and Rosevelt basement. (Now not open due to COVID-19). I ate there once or every two weeks.

Our family had our dinner in Mrs fish on Saturday in February 2024. Despite the restaurant name that resemble a Sichuan restaurant, this restaurant could serve authentic Cantonese cuisine. We met the chef that evening who has culinary experience in several famous restaurants in Guangdong China before migrating to New York. We asked the chef to do Omaske for us using fresh seafood. Our family was happily surprised by the elegant plated and delicious dishes in this 'chef special'. The chicken with ginger and scallion, deep fried orange peel spare ribs, baked fresh eel in garlic , tofu with stuffed pork and pepper with stuffed shrimp, fresh giant oyster in XO sauce ......what a fantastic feast that we found in Chinatown! The waiters were friendlyy and attentive while the place was clean and tastefully decorated with Chinese calligraphy frames. We highly recommended visitors to try this restaurant, a hidden gem in New York Chinatown !

Food is delicious. A wide selection of food and quick service. You can choose to dine on Pell St outdoor tables but you get a bit of a sewer smell. Eat inside and enjoy the food!

Went to lunch on Saturday with my son. He loved the lamb and salt & pepper pork chop. The dim sum and noodles are fantastic as well. We have been to this place quite a few places over the years, it has always been a delicious meal.
